PRL has exceptionally skilled remote sensing experts involved in analysis of data from both Indian and international planetary missions. This is complemented with data from ground-based telescopes and reflectance spectroscopy of planetary and analogues samples .. Remote sensing is a rapidly expanding field relying heavily on image and signal processing, machine learning, and computer vision. This field encompasses a wide range of topics, with our experienced team of scientists primarily focused on studying the surface features and composition of the Moon and Mars, including alteration processes, volcanism, and impact cratering.
Remote sensing studies at PRL utilizes a variety of open-source and commercial software along with in-house developed modules and protocols for in-depth analysis of multispectral and hyperspectral datasets. Through this industrial meet, we aim to explore comprehensive data analysis solutions under the "Make in India" initiative whereby we can identify Indian developers and companies who can fulfill our requirements and also collaborate in our in-house developed programs for commercial applications. Our goal is to collaborate and contribute to cutting-edge advancements in the field of Planetary Remote Sensing.
